Supra
Slap Jack's '95 Supra Turbo

These cars were leftovers from the first movie. Completely redesigned and refitted with new parts. Only one of the cars was actually turbocharged. The rest were naturally aspirated 3.0L with automatic transmissions. There were four cars used and they were (as usual) designated Hero 1, Hero 2, Stunt 1 and Stunt 2. The leftover ``buck`` car from TFTF was repurposed for Mic Rig shots in this movie.

PERFORMANCE STATS

The Hero car was never properly tuned since it was a movie car.The stats below are representative of what the car could make when properly tuned

650-700hp without nitrous.
0-60 in 4.2 seconds (on 19 inch street tires)
0-100 in 9.0 seconds (on 19 inch street tires)
¼ mile in 12.0 seconds at 130 mph
Top speed = 185 mph

It’s important to note that when Sport Compact Car tested this car, it was being run on 87 octane, low boost and the car had been sitting for nearly a year.

For people who know little/nothing about cars, Supras are NOT drag race cars unless you add drag slicks. 19″ low profile side walls make for terrible launches which is why most videos of Supras racing are roll races, starting from about 40-60 mph.

MORE ABOUT THIS CAR

As I mentioned before, there were at least four of these cars:

  • Hero 1 – this was the Hero 2 car from the first movie;
  • Hero 2 – carried over from the first movie
  • Stunt 1 – also carried over from the first movie. Used in the billboard crash scene for 2F2F.
  • Stunt 2 – carried over from the first movie. This was the ramp jump car for 2F2F.

After 2F2F finished filming, each of these cars suffered a different fate.

Hero 1 is still in the hands of Universal.

Hero 2 was sold at least once or twice and is with a collector.

Stunt 1 is rebuilt back to the way it was in the first movie, then was sold at auction for $185k back around 2015, then sold again reportedly for nearly $250K late in 2018. The car is reportedly in South Carolina as of early 2019.

Stunt 2, the jump car, was rebuilt by Eddie Paul and was sold a couple of times over. As of early 2019, this car is for sale at MotoExotica.

What’s most interesting about these Supras is that since they were all reused from the first movie, the Supras from the first movie no longer exist, for all intents and purposes.

With the untimely death of Paul Walker, values of anything he touched skyrocketed after his death with values peaking around 2015. We’re now seeing prices drop for memorabilia and things related to Paul and the first movie.

Even more mystifying is why American collectors don’t seem to care for memorabilia from this franchise, or even the cars. Most of the cars have gone to overseas buyers because they’re willing to pay what Americans won’t. As a result, many of these cars are now in Europe.
